Digital UK 2016 Update published
Digital UK (DUK) has published its 2016 update ‘Delivering connected TV for everyone’ setting out the latest news and developments on the DTT platform. It can be downloaded from here. The report highlights the progress DUK is making on a number of key initiatives for terrestrial television, including their new connected TV service, Freeview Play, which they believe can play an important role in creating an increasingly connected TV nation. Another area of focus includes work supporting viewers and channel providers, as well as involvement in a key infrastructure project to deliver future mobile broadband services, clearance of the 700MHz spectrum band. The CAI has become a partner here as the discussion develops on how to deal with any necessary aerial upgrades that result from a migration of muxes from the 7000 MHz bandwidth. Of particular interest to our trade are pages 14 and 15 where Clearance Director, Kate Macesfield – who spoke at ‘Evolving Connectivity 2016’ - stakes out the progress so far on how the programme is evolving.
