A splitter divides the signal. An amplifier lifts it first.

That is why the set furthest from the aerial fails first, and why adding another splitter usually makes every room worse rather than better.

Once the distribution is in, the level is measured at each outlet and every television is tuned in on it before we leave, so you are not left retuning three sets yourself.

Most of these are the older stone terraces and semis around Morley, Churwell and Gildersome, where the original point went in when there was one television in the house and nobody imagined four.

How many rooms one system will carry depends on the aerial or the dish, the length of the cable runs, and how much is asking for a signal at the far end. A small distribution amplifier handles several rooms comfortably; a whole house is the same principle at a bigger scale. We measure what your setup can actually support before recommending anything, rather than quoting a number down the phone.

Sky Q and Sky Glass can feed a second room from the same subscription. The point still has to be wired in properly and tested once it is fed, and we treat it exactly like a Freeview point: measured, run tidily, and tuned in before we leave.
