How we handle your information.
Plain English, no legal padding. This page explains what we collect, why, and what happens to it.
Who we are
DM Communications Ltd, 22 The Gills, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS27 8WE. You can reach us on 07976 977 132, on 0113 289 7009, or by email at [email protected].
What we collect and why
When you ring, email, message on WhatsApp or use the enquiry form on this site, we receive:
- Your name and phone number so Dean can call you back.
- Your postcode (if you give it) so we know where the job is.
- What the television is doing so we can give useful advice before anyone comes out.
That is all. We do not ask for anything else and we do not buy data from anyone.
Our legal basis
We process your information under legitimate interest (UK GDPR, Article 6(1)(f)): you contacted us because you want a television aerial looked at, and we need your details to do that. There is no mailing list, no marketing database and no profiling.
What we do with it
- Use it to call you back, arrange the visit, and do the work you asked for.
- Keep a record of the job for guarantee purposes.
We do not share your information with anyone outside DM Communications unless you ask us to (for example, if a job involves a manufacturer's warranty claim).
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become a job: deleted within 12 months.
Completed jobs: kept for 24 months after the work (covering the guarantee period
plus a reasonable margin), then deleted.
Where it is stored
Enquiries submitted through the website form are stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure (UK and EU data centres, adequate safeguards under UK GDPR). Everything else stays on Dean's phone and in his email.
Cookies and tracking
Nothing that identifies you runs on this site until you say yes. The first time you visit you are asked, and until you answer, no analytics or advertising cookie is set and no tracking script is loaded. If you say no, the site works exactly the same.
What we ask for
- Strictly necessary
- Always on, and no consent is needed for it. This covers security and keeping the site working, and includes remembering the cookie choice you make below so we do not ask again on every page. It is stored in your browser, not on our servers.
- Measurement
- Google Analytics 4. Tells us which pages people read, how they arrived, and which buttons get used, so we can tell what is worth keeping. We never send Google your name, your number, your email address or anything you type. Google sets cookies and processes the data in the United States under the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Advertising
- The Meta pixel, which covers Facebook and Instagram. It lets us measure whether advertising reaches people who actually need an aerial, and build audiences for future advertising. Meta sets cookies and processes the data in the United States under the same framework. You can accept measurement and refuse this: they are separate choices.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics
- Counts page views and where visitors came from. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and cannot identify anyone, so it runs whatever you choose and needs no consent. It cannot see which buttons you press.
Changing your mind
You can withdraw consent at any time, and it is no harder than giving it. It takes effect immediately and the page reloads clean.
You can also clear cookies for this site in your browser, which has the same effect.
Our legal basis for these
Consent, under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. That is separate from the legitimate interest above, which covers dealing with an enquiry you send us. Withdrawing cookie consent does not affect anything we already lawfully collected, and it does not affect our handling of an enquiry you have already made.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your information entirely.
Ring 07976 977 132 or 0113 289 7009, or email [email protected] and we will deal with it the same day. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
